Thank you very much. I will post more details with pictures about how I completely re-built the voice coil, and how I fixed the amp (My 680 was the last generation. The circuit was quite different from yours, and the schematic came with the speaker did not match the actual circuit. So I fixed the issue without schematic). Here is back of my unit. As you can see, the position selector is different from yours:

This is very true. I found the bass performs the best when set the selector to position B no matter where you put the speaker.
